The Texas State University STEM program will receive a five-point-eight-million-dollar grant the federal government. Bobcat Update's Shelby Powell has more on the story.

Texas State is one of 21 universities this year to receive U-S Department of Education funding. The five-point-eight million dollars will promote STEM, which is short for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The grant will be distributed incrementally over a five-year period to help students succeed in the STEM-related disciplines.
